Welcome to the official site for me, Toran Jorane Shaw! I am a Writer and Digital Consultant specializing¬†in the new European General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) that come into force next May. The United Kingdom has its own version of the legislation that’s currently going through Parliament!

These new regulations will be a game changer, in terms of how you collect and store the personal data of European Union citizens. In a nutshell, not only will you need to get specific concent on what data you collect but you’re going to have to inform the individual on how you’re going to use and store said data!

The next year or so, while we go through the transition process, will be confusing to many. No matter who you are, from large corporate entities to self-employed solo entrepreneurs, if you collect personal data from someone, these new regulations will apply to you. I’m here to help you through this period, to make sure that you’re fully compliant; whether through the information on this website or personal training sessions, I’m here for you!

If you need any help, no matter how small, regarding these new regulations, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

My Work

I’m a web designer by trade, specialising in sites built with WordPress and, in particular, the Divi Theme by Elegant Themes. I also offer site design critique and training in how to use WordPress… and the Divi Theme in particular! I also offer content creation and management services.

Along with working in the web design field, I am also a writer. I primarily write works of fiction in the fantasy, supernatural, science fiction and erotica genres. I don’t have anything published yet, though that’s mostly due to the fact that my main story ideas are still in the development process… watch this space!

Personal Interests

I love to travel and explore new places and cultures. I love learning about languages and how they evolve (I am currently learning Japanese).

I’m a member of the General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches (Unitarians for short). I also love learning about all the various faiths and belief systems as possible, attending as many different services as I can.

I am a member of the Liberal Democrats. That said, I consider myself to be coming from the Left Libertarian side of things.

I am a Brentford FC season ticket holder (as of next season) and have been supporting them since my teens. I love watching Formula 1, Rugby League and Cricket (only the 1-day games or shorter).

I also consider myself something of an otaku, as I love to read manga and watch anime!

Powered by Open Source
I am a firm believer in the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) philosophy, though I don’t take the Richard Stallman approach to things! I also use Linux on all my computers, and have done so for over a year now!
